Welcome to the Christian Educators Network wiki
A wiki is a collaboration website where anyone who is invited or cares to join can add to the planning and ideas that will be developing here.
We began this wiki to help organize the Back to School Prayer Walks for Osceola County, FL. The goal of the Back to School Prayer Walks are to ask God's blessings upon the administration, teachers, paraprofessionals, students and the community. Please consider prayer walking your school throughout the year with like-minded colleagues. Click on the resource page for more information, handouts, flyer, resources, etc. Why are we prayerwalking? Christian Educators are prayerfully dependent upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, for intervention and compassion in the daily lives of our school communities. Our teachers understand that every student given to us each year is fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator. We seek His wisdom and grace in all that we do through love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, gentleness, patience, self-control, and faithfulness. Prayerwalking is one way to gather together in humble awe of the power of God in our lives. According to Steve Hawthrone and Graham Kendrick, authors of Prayer-Walking, we are "praying on site with insight."

FREE to SPEAK - Do you know what public school students' religious liberties are?
a small quote from the US Department of Education Guidelines:
Although the Constitution forbids public school officials from directing or favoring prayer, students do not "shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate," [ 9 ]
Guidance on Constitutional Protected Prayer from the United States Department of Education
a small quote from the article.......
Teachers, Administrators, and other School Employees
When acting in their official capacities as representatives of the state, teachers, school administrators, and other school employees are prohibited by the Establishment Clause from encouraging or discouraging prayer, and from actively participating in such activity with students. Teachers may, however, take part in religious activities where the overall context makes clear that they are not participating in their official capacities. Before school or during lunch, for example, teachers may meet with other teachers for prayer or Bible study to the same extent that they may engage in other conversation or nonreligious activities. Similarly, teachers may participate in their personal capacities in privately sponsored baccalaureate ceremonies.
